Cue Macklemore & let’s get thriftayyy, bitches!
Welcome to my first thrift store haul! I want to do a post every Thursday going forward where I show off some
of the items I picked up in secondhand stores. I want to do this in an attempt to..
(1) Inspire you to give back to your community. A lot of local secondhand store profits go to benefit local charities/education
programs/food banks so you can quite literally see where your money is going (to everyone living around you).
(2) It’s good for your bank account, & by good for it I mean that shopping secondhand won’t drain it completely.
**Although I’m sure this is possible, I’ve never heard of it happening to anyone I know personally, and it hasn’t happened to me yet.
Please note: while I thoroughly encourage this activity, we must still be sensitive to the fact that we have an ongoing battle against COVID-19 in our midst. Wear your masks when you’re out shopping, social distance, wash your hands, & thoroughly clean whatever treasures you take home with you. I immediately put all clothing in the wash separate from the rest of my household items, & I disinfect/clean all other items prior to placing it on any surfaces in my home. I advise you take similar precautions to prevent the spread of any germs.
ON A LIGHTER NOTE..
I’m excited today because sometimes I’m unable to trace back the clothes I buy to the original retail price
(idk I like seeing what I saved 💁🏼♀️) but TODAY I was able to locate
the cute blouse I scored during a Google search! This shirt stuck
out to me mostly because of how colorful it is, and it only has four buttons at the very top with the remaining
length of the shirt flowing outward. I loved that it was versatile; you can
wear it buttoned completely, with a few undone, you can wear it as a layer, you can tie the ends of the shirt together
to make it a little more modern.. depending on your mood, depending on how cold it is, etc.
I also am OVER this weather and I’m convincing myself that if I wear more florals, it’ll stop
spontaneously snowing outside. Whether my method works or not… remains to be seen.

The jeans & boots were not from my thrift store haul, but I felt it necessary
to relay the sales information because they’re bargains, nonetheless.
*I also don’t buy shoes secondhand for sanitary purposes.
Jeans: Hollister
Price: $25.00
**I have yet to find a denim brand that fits me as well as
Hollister does, so I’ve stuck with them for the past 13 years.
(I feel somewhat nauseous now as I realize it’s been 13 years since
I was a teenager.) Hollister runs a denim sale every few months
where most styles get marked down to $25.00, & I stock up then.
If you subscribe to their emails, they’ll notify you of exactly when they go on sale.
Boots: Charlotte Russe
Price: $20.00
**besides Charlotte Russe being fairly reasonable in general, they run
sales on shoes quite often. They’re running one as we speak & although
the boots I have on here seem to be sold out, there’s a lot of other styles
that are going for the same price.
I also scored ALLLL these picture frames for $15.00.
Some of them were still in the plastic wrapping which was awesome.
**I know you’re probably like “wtf is this psycho doing with
that many picture frames”, but there is a method to my madness
that you’ll see in a later post.
& fnally, for reasons that I cannot explain, I’m a huge fan of funny
little wooden box signs like this one, which was the perfect
addition to my kitchen countertop next to the coffeemaker for a whole $2.
…because who doesn’t put signs up next to their coffee machine?
& for that matter, who doesn’t love coffee & rap music?
I’d say my shopping trip was successful! Check back in next Thursday
