For the past 2-3 years, Iโve been bleaching tf out of my hair to maintain its blondeness. Unfortunately, with beauty comes sacrifice, and after each bleaching episode Iโve had to cut off an inch or two of my ends.. so the length of my hair was maintaining around mid-shoulder blade length.
As I mentioned previously, Iโm getting married in September. The hairstyles Iโve picked out will require my hair to be long in order to look the way I want them to. I did purchase extensions and will utilize them for volume purposes.. but I didnโt want my actual length to be that far off from the extension length. Mostly because I didnโt want to look crazily different than what I normally look like on my wedding day. Minus the poofy dress.
Setting aside the fact that Iโve been bleaching my hair, Iโve also been abusing it heat-wise.. blow-drying it out pretty much daily, straightening it, sometimes utilizing the curling iron. So obviously for starters, cutting back on burning it on a daily basis would be step one, and utilizing heat protection during blowouts/straightening would be step two.
Iโve also picked up some products that promote repair of pre-existing hair damage/re-growth, and for Iโm going to document how well they work! I am taking a few supplements that assist with hair regrowth, such as vitamin B complex (Iโm using the gummies from Walmart). I know that Biotin is one of the popular ones for hair growth but Iโve noticed that it makes me break out if I use it for more than two days, so Iโve been staying away from that one – BUT, it does work.
**Keep in mind, Biotin will help grow the hair on your head.. but you will also be shaving more often because it makes the hair on your legs grow faster too.
Some of these products Iโve been using for the past 2-3 months, and some Iโve picked up recently.

Not Your Motherโs Blonde Moment Seal & Protect Leave In* (Iโve used this one before maybe a year ago, & it definitely works. It makes your hair super soft & manageable, & it brightens the blonde in your hair. I spray it all over the blonde parts (especially at my roots) while my hair is still wet, prior to air drying or blow-drying.
OGX Restoring & Bonding Plex Leave In Treatment* This one is a little on the pricier side, & what factored into my decision in whether I wanted to spend the amount or not was having been post-bleaching & my hair needed the assistance. Iโve had it for almost two months, and Iโve used it everytime Iโve washed my hair, so it does last awhile. It reduces pre-existing damage and creates a barrier against any new damage. Iโm going to be buying another one once the bottle is completely empty, because I think it worked well.
LโOrรฉal Elvive Dream Lengths No Haircut Cream* I just picked this product up a week ago, & mostly because the label says it has castor oil in it. Castor oil is really healthy for your hair. Any time Iโve used it by itself though, the smell resembles one coming from my kitchen when Iโm cooking dinner. This cream smells amazing, makes my hair soft, gets rid of frizz, and it doesnโt seem to weigh down my hair too much.
Hask Biotin Boost Thickening Cream* Iโve had this one for awhile, & I paid almost ten bucks for it because I thought it would be a decent substitute for taking Biotin as a supplement (because it makes me break out). The smell is little weird but it doesnโt linger, and the product does what it says it does. Your hair does feel thicker, and I think itโs made mine stronger.
Bondi Boost Procapil Hair Tonic* I splurged on this one maybe a week ago, because Iโve heard good things about Bondi Boost.. plus this one promises to protect against hair loss. Iโm not losing hair, but in the event Iโm having any fallout as a result of bleaching it, I figured this product will reverse it. I spray it directly into my scalp after washing my hair and rub it in. It smells really good, but thatโs all I can really say about it right now because itโs only been a few days.
Itโs a 10 Miracle Leave In Treatment* ALSO a splurge. I typically would not ever spend this much on a hair product but Iโve seen a ton of positive reviews about it. We shall see.. Iโve only used it twice.
Iโll update yโall in about a month!
